The man whimpered as the beast dragged him along the cold ground.
He knew what might happen, and feared for his pathetic life, his corpulent
body shaking in absolute horror as visions of people, like him, were dragged
to a bloody death. The beast deposited him in front of TheGlome, the
assassin he had hoped to get the job done, then stiff him. TheGlome's
featureless face, save a mouth, twisted into what could have passed as a
snarl, and growled: "Where's the money? all five thousand platinum peices?"
The man tried to scramble backwards, but he had been propped against
the wall. TheGlome's upper lip twitched, and said, "Don't have the money?
looks like you're fodder" "Fo-fo-for what?" The man whimpered. TheGlome
had been stroking the beast's head, and almost absentmindedly, said:
"My pet, of course." The beast leaped, and a horrible scream emanated
throughout the night.
